Purdy, Al, & Sam Solecki, ed. Beyond Remembering: The Collected Poems of Al Purdy. 2000. Madeira Park, BC, Canada: Harbour Publishing, 2001. I picked it up in Jason Books, and have really enjoyed getting to know this very interesting man Al Purdy. Another Canadian poet said of him: “the Emperor has no clothes” — I disagree. To me he seems like a kind of a strange cross between Raymond Carver and James K. Baxter.
